How long is the club? Smells and Bangs Science workshops las between 1 hour to 1.5 hours

Where do you provide demonstration assemblies? - Currently we only provide our FREE demonstration in the areas we cover.

What Topics do you cover? – The topics we cover are listed in our programmes and where possible we aim to link or topics to some of the primary science national curriculum topics allowing to work and think scientifically. However, these are not exhaustive as we will be covering a whole range of topics and topics will not be repeated. Therefore, if your children can attend our sessions as many times as they want and each time gaining new experience and learning about different aspects and concepts in science.

Do you Provide taster sessions? For our After School club, Smells and Bangs Science provide a FREE school demonstration session prior to schools taking up our After School Club programmes. For our weekend science clubs we provide a FREE demonstration weekend session for anyone interested in joining. to find out more.

Would the school need to provide any resources?-No, we just require a room with access to a table, water, power supply​ and space for the children to carry out activities. Ideally some table and chairs for the children but not essential.

What is the minimum and maximum number of children required for the After School Programme to run?-We require a minimum of 8 children to run a club and a maximum of 15. We can tailor the programme to specific key stage or year groups or mixed year groups and can run the programme on different days to meet your school needs. ​

Will Smells and Bangs Science be running the After School Club every term at my child’s school? Depending on the popularity of the After School Club and the school ‘s scheduled programmes, we are more than happy to continue running our After School programmes at your child’s school. Alternatively, we also run a weekend science club. Please to find out more.

What age range does your club cater for? At Smells and Bangs Science our After School club carters for children, age 5-11. Sessions are for mixed for KS1 and KS2, however, should a school require a programme for specific key stage group our club can be catered for that.

​​Do you require any additional adult help for the after-school programme? -No, our instructors are fully trained and enhanced DBS checked. However, there should be an extra adult on site who is first aid trained.

​What is the process involved once our school decides to have you run an After School programme?-

Can I pay on a weekly basis?- Unfortunately, we do not accept weekly payments. All payments must be made in advance for the entire half or full term on registration to attend the After School Club.

Are your Science activities safe and suitable?- All our Hand-on science activities are risk assessed and are suitable for children to do. Certain demonstrations will only be carried out by our science instructor.

Do you take childcare voucher?- Smells and Bangs Science does not accept childcare vouchers as we are not a childcare provider

Is Smells and Bangs Ofsted Registered?-No Smells and Bangs Science is not Ofsted registered as we provided science tuition activities to allow children to develop, improve and their scientific skills. We do not provide childcare.

Are your workshops only for schools? No, we can adapt and tailor our workshops for holiday clubs, fairs, clubs and events. Do contact us with specific information about your event.

Can you cater for a whole school? We can work with each school on their specific requirements to tailor our workshops accordingly to their needs and requirements.

Can we book different workshops? Yes, absolutely and depending on your school requirements. For example, you might want to book the two-hour session for KS1 and the half or full day session for KS2.

We are more than happy to work with you to ensure your students get the most out of the sessions whilst having fun too.
